John obtained a B.A. in English and American History from the University of New Hampshire. Throughout his stay in college, John was extensively involved in a variety of groups and school activities, including Big Brothers and Big Sisters of America. John is also passionate about health and wellbeing, and sports have played a significant role in his life. He was a member of the Men’s Lacrosse Team and competed in the 1986 NCAA National Men’s Lacrosse Tournament quarter-finals. Additionally, John was a member of Orleans’ summer lacrosse team in the Cape Cod Summer Lacrosse League (CCL).
Along with spending every bit of his recreational time with his family, John Gavin enjoys planning international travel. Nothing excites him more than learning about different civilizations in a new location and immersing himself in the local culture and cuisine. John, a self-described amateur photographer, does an excellent job preserving the experiences his family will cherish for years to come.
John Gavin possesses an extensive and outstanding resume. For 11 years, he served as President and Chief Operating Officer of Southland MicroSystems, Inc. John obtained essential industry expertise and taught incoming workers and executives during this period, establishing a footing in the sector of networking and computer hardware and software sales.
John Gavin has long been recognized for his strong sense of community and his willingness to assist others, particularly children. Even after graduating from college, John Gavin continued to assist Big Brothers Big Sisters of America. He is well aware of the vital nature of setting a positive example for children in order to motivate them to reach their most significant potential. In line with this concept, John Gavin volunteers as a lacrosse coach with the Shooting Stars, Victory Lacrosse, and the Laguna Beach Little League. John is an active member of his community and a generous giver to charities such as Goodwill, the Red Cross, and World Vision. John is naturally drawn to beach sports such as surfing, scuba diving, and upright paddle boarding because he lives in Laguna Beach.
